Funding needed to fight contagion effects from the eurozone crisis, says Christine Lagarde
The head of the International Monetary Fund on Monday called for an extra 500 billion dollars in funding over the coming years to fight potential contagion effects from the eurozone crisis.
"In the coming years, we estimate a global potential financing need of $1 trillion. To play its part, the IMF would aim to raise up to $500 billion in additional lending resources," Christine Lagarde said in a speech.
