Rains and lower temperatures are expected to continue in Egypt on Wednesday after the unseasonably warm weather on Tuesday, according to Egypt's Meteorological Authority (EMA).

The EMA said that rainfall is expected in most parts of the country, causing floods in Sinai and the Red Sea mountain range.

Cairo's local authorities have raised the alert level as rain has continued in the governorate since Wednesday morning.

The EMA added that sand storms may disrupt navigation on Mediterranean.

Temperature forecasts across Egypt on Wednesday are as follows:

Cairo: 20 – 14

Alexandria: 19 - 12

Nile Delta: 18 - 14

North Sinai: 21 - 16

South Sinai: 29 - 19

Upper Egypt: 24 - 12
