Ivory Coast vice-captain Didier Zokora has been cleared to play against against Burkina Faso next Thursday after serving his ban.
“Zokora served his one-match ban after collecting yellow cards during the qualifiers,” a statement from the Ivory Coast FA said on Tuesday.
The 31-year old defender who plays for Trabzonspor in Turkey has been usually been paired with Manchester City defender Kolo Toure in central defence.
He is expected to be included in the starting lineup when the Elephants – who beat Sudan 1-0 in the first matchday - will take on Burkina Faso in the second matchday of Group B.
