Greek club Atromitos decided on Wednesday to sanction their Egyptian midfielder Amr Warda over his behaviour towards AEK Athens fans on Tuesday.

The international midfielder quarrelled with AEK Athens fans while leaving the pitch during his side's 3-0 loss to AEK Athens in the Greek Cup on Tuesday.

"After Tuesday's incidents and after a meeting between the club's management and the team's technical staff, the club has decided to punish Amr Warda," read a statement on the club's official website on Wednesday.

"The midfielder will not train with the team and he will train at another time.''

Warda has scored three goals since re-joining Atromitos in January. The Egyptian international spent the last season on loan at Atromitos before returning to PAOK in the summer.

However, he played a minor role and was loaned to Atromitos again this winter.

The 25-year-old was named in the Pharaohs squad that will prepare for the Niger clash in the Nations Cup qualifiers set to be played on the 23rd of this month.
