Presidential decree approves amendments to US aid deal
MENA, , Thursday 28 Feb 2019

Egypt's President Abdel Fattah El Sisi issued a decree on Thursday approving an amendment to a deal on the US aid to Egypt with regard to bilateral cooperation in the science and technological domains.

Under the amendment, the USAID will extend to Egypt $ 20 million instead of $ 16 million to promote science and technology collaboration.

The deal is part of five grant agreements signed in July 2018 between Egypt and the United States worth $45 million in the fields of agriculture, higher education, science and technology, health, and governance.

It also includes partnerships between Egyptian and American educational organizations; the agreement is set to boost school education and educate teachers of science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
