Egyptian and French naval forces carried out a maritime training exercise on Sunday in Egyptian waters, according to a statement by the Egyptian military.
The training comes in the framework of bolstering military relations, enhancing cooperation, and exchanging experiences between the Egyptian armed forces and their French counterparts, military spokesman Tamer El-Refai said.
The training began with the participation of two Egyptian helicopters (Anwar Sadat and Gamal Abdel-Nasser), the French Mistral (Tuner) helicopter, a number of frigates, and Egyptian and French missile launchers.
The training includes the planning and implementation of a number of maritime training activities, which come within the framework of military cooperation relations and exchange of experiences between the Egyptian and French navies.
The exercise aims to enhance the combat efficiency of the naval forces of both countries to achieve the highest levels of readiness to carry out any joint tasks.
