Preview: Egypt's Ismaily aim to improve complicated group position in Mazembe game

Ismaily will be looking to improve their complex position in Group C when they host Congolese side TP Mazembe at Borg El-Arab Stadium on the fifth match day of the CAF Champions League group stage on Friday.

Ismaily will continue to feature their African home games away from their stadium in Ismailia in the aftermath of a crowd riot that took place during the team's group-stage game against Club Africain of Tunisia on 18 January, leading the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to kick the team out of the competition.

Ismaily were later allowed to return to the Champions League by the African football governing body CAF after an appeal by the club.

If they want to qualify to the quarter final of the top-flight competition, in which they are featuring for the first time since 2010, the Dervishes are left with no option but to win all three points against Mazembe and hope for favourable results from other team games in their group.

Ismaily, who lost to Mazembe 2-0 in the group opener, are last in the group with a mere one point, nine adrift of group-toppers CS Constantine of Algeria, while Mazembe are second with seven points and Club African are third with four points.
