Liverpool's Klopp says Salah was best player in 4-2 win over Burnley

Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp hailed Mohamed Salah's display in a 4-2 Premier League win over Burnley on Sunday, saying the Egyptian was his side's best player despite not scoring.

Salah dished out an assist and had a hand in another as Liverpool romped to a convincing victory courtesy of a brace from Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane apiece.

"Today, for me Mo Salah was the best player on the pitch and he did not score," Klopp told reporters after the match, according to Liverpool's official website.

"I'm not sure that you will see that in a lot of ratings, because he's a striker and didn't score so then you make of it what you want. But we have no problem with confidence."

Salah, the Premier League's top scorer last season with a record tally of 32 goals, has failed to find the net for the fourth consecutive league match, his longest run without scoring since he joined Liverpool in the summer of 2017.

But he has 17 goals to his name in the competition so far this season, just one behind leading scorer Sergio Aguero of Manchester City.

Liverpool are second in the table with 73 points, one behind City.
