Leftist Egyptian writer Nabil Zaky dies at 83

Veteran Egyptian writer and co-founder of the leftist National Progressive Unionist Party, commonly known as Al-Tagammu, died on Tuesday at the age of 83.

Al-Tagammu party issued a statement in mourning ofZaky, describing him as one of the prominent leaders of the Egyptian nationalist movement.

Zaky served as the spokesman of Al-Tagammu and the CEO of the party's newspaper Al-Ahaly up until his death. He also served as the editor-in-chief of Al-Akhbar newspaper.
