Tunisia coach Alain Giresse said on Tuesday that he left Zamalek's fullback Hamdi Nagguez out of his team's squad for an African Nations Cup qualifier due to "technical reasons."

There was no room for the towering right-back when Giresse announced Tunisia's 26-man squad for a qualifier against eSwatini on 22 March and a friendly against Algeria four days later.

Zamalek midfielder Ferjani Sassi and Ahly's fullback Ali Maaloul made Tunisia's squad.

The Belgian coach opted to name Gent's Dylan Bronn and German-based Mohamed Drager, who plays for second division side Paderborn, in Tunisia's roster as right-backs.

Asked about Nagguez's snub during a news conference in Tunisia, Giresse said: "On the right flank I decided to call up other players."

"Mohamed Drager produced many fine displays with his side, and the same goes for Dylan Bronn."

Giresse has also recalled classy winger Youssef Msakni for the first time since he suffered a knee injury that prevented him from playing at last summer's World Cup.
