El-Fashny, who is known for his mawal improvisation, became well-known after singing the theme song of a TV series in Ramadan 2017
Egyptian singer Wael El-Fashny will perform at Zamalek’s Elbet Alwan next week to celebrate the spring.
"I am glad I am performing at Elbet Alwan. I love the place; it reminds me of European venues," El-Fashny told Ahram Online.
He will be accompanied by his oriental band to perform his original tunes, in addition to some classic oriental covers.
"We are currently preparing an Indian adaptation of one of Abdu El-Askandrany’s songs. It is in the final stages of the production and I hope to perform it at the concert," he revealed.
El-Fashny, who is known for his improvising performance of mawal, a Middle East form of vocal music, became well-known after he sung the theme song of the 2017 Ramadan TV series Wahet El Ghoroub. He went on to sing the theme song to the series Tayea.
El-Fashny was also featured on Cairokee's 2017 album A Drop of White, singing on the track Ghareeb.
He has also appeared in a few TV programmes and adverts.
The experienced percussionist started his career as a vocalist and a riq player with a number of well-known musicians like Sharkiat's Fathy Salma, the Yehya Khalil band and Ali El-Haggar, playing at various venues and festivals across the globe.
