Ahly signed Malian striker Traore for two-and-a-half-year contract, replacing axed Lebanese Ghaddar

Ahly have officially signed Malian striker Mohamed Traore of Tunisian side Club Africain, which demanded $300,000 to release the star during the ongoing transfer window.

The 22-year-old forward will replace axed Lebanese Mohamed Ghaddar in the Red squad, after signing a two-and-half-year contract on Thursday.

The Malian hitman will join the Cairo giants' training session on Saturday, after passing the club's medical tests.

Traore joined Club Africain during the 2009 summer transfer window. He signed on for two years and was to remain with the Tunisian champions for another six months.

Ahly terminated its contract with striker Ghaddar on Wednesday in order to make room for the foreign striker, after the Lebanese had failed to live up to expectations.

The Red Devils have also announced recently the appointment of Portuguese coach Manuel Jose, who will be in charge of Thursday’s training. Jose arrived in Cairo on Wednesday to an outstanding welcome from supporters of the African champions.
