Zamalek drop Boutaib, Emam from squad playing Tunisia's Etoile du Sahel

Zamalek have excluded injured Moroccan striker Khalid Boutaib and right-back Hazem Emam from the Whites' squad that will fly to Tunisia to face Etoile du Sahel in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals.

The Cairo giants will also be missing their efficient Tunisian midfielder Ferjani Sassi, who underwent surgery on his foot and will be out of action for up to six weeks.

Zamalek snatched a narrow advantage in the first leg in Cairo last week, defeating Etoile du Sahel 1-0.

"I am satisfied with the players' performance, especially in the first half," Zamalek's Swiss manager Christian Gross said at the post-game press conference.

Apart from the absence of Sassi, Boutaib and Emam, Zamalek have an almost fully fit squad to choose from.

Zamalek, five-time winners of the elite African Champions League, have never won the Confederation Cup, the continent's secondary club competition.
