Egypt to see cooler weather on Tuesday, second day of Ramadan

Egypt’s current hot weather will end on Tuesday, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority (EMA) has said, promising relief to Muslim fasters on what will be the second day of the holy month of Ramadan, which started on Monday.

According to the EMA, temperatures will drop by ten degrees Celsius on Tuesday morning, and dusty winds will be active in the western areas of the country, including the western Mediterranean, causing disturbances in navigation.

A surge of hot weather hit the country on Sunday.

Cairo highs on Monday are expected to reach 37 degrees.

Tuesday temperatures are forecast as follows:

Cairo and the Nile Delta: 18-30

Alexandria and North Coast: 13-23

Upper Egypt: 25-42

South Sinai/Hurghada: 18-33
