"You're a great actor, good face, good body and one day maybe we will work together, we'll see, inshallah," the former karate and kickboxing star added.

From his side, the 30-year-old record breaking actor and rapper Ramadan said "it is a great complement from a great international actor, all of whose films I used to watch."

"Trust in Allah. Success," Ramadan ended his Instagram posts in his typical manner.

Ramadan gained huge popularity with a number of films that have been criticised for violence, including Abdo Mota (2012), El-Almany (2012) and Qalb Al-Assad (2013), which was named after Van Damme's 1990s film Lionheart.

Since then and despite the controversy, Ramadan has proven his talent and popularity with films like El-Kenz, Jawab Itiqaland Akher Deek Fe Masr, all of which came out in 2017.

His TV series have also brought him fame, including Ibn Halal (2014) and the smash hit El-Ostora (2016), followed by Nesr El-Seid (2018).

Ramadan is also a breakout star in music with a number of braggadocio rap song, including Number One, which has over 100 million views on YouTube, Al-Malek, with 85 million views, and Mafia, at 120 million views.

His latest music video, produced by Synergy, is entitled The Moon and has gained more than 20 million views in one month.

Last week, he signed a three-year deal with Saudi mega production company Rotana as a singer.

Ramadan is on the screen during the holy month of Ramadan this year in the new series Zilzal (Earthquake), directed by Ibrahim Fakhr and written by Abdel-Rahim Kamal.
