Egypt's ambassador in Belgrade hosts Iftar for Egyptian community in Serbia

In a speech at the iftar ceremony, Ambassador Aljowaily praised communication between members of the Egyptian community in Serbia and the embassy, enhancing Egyptian-Serbian relations

Egypt's Olympic champions in Taekwondo took part in the firing ceremony of the iftar cannon in Novi Pazar.

Ambassador of Egypt in Belgrade Amr Aljowaily hosted an iftar breaking of the fast for the Egyptian community in Serbia in the presence of two Olympic champions in the sport of Taekwondo, Hidayat Malak and Radwa Reda, five imams and Quran rectiers from Al-Azhar and the Egyptian Ministry of Endowments.

In his speech at the ceremony, Aljowaily praised the constant communication between the members of the Egyptian community in Serbia and the embassy, through periodic bi-monthly meetings, enhancing Egyptian-Serbian relations, on the one hand, and communication between immigrant communities and Egypt, the motherland, on the other.

Aljowaily noted the expansion and growth witnessed in bilateral relations between Egypt and Serbia recently, which is reflected in the diversity of the presence at the iftar, which included the two Olympic champions, currently residing in Serbia for an extended training camp, the Egyptian agricultural delegation participating in the exhibition of Novi Sad, and the large number of imams, in addition to the resident community.


In a related activity, Ambassador Aljowaily participated with the group of Arab and Islamic ambassadors in the ceremony of launching the iftar cannon in the province of Novi Pazar in southwest Serbia, in the presence of Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Rasim Ljajić and the minister of trade, communications and tourism.

Mayor of Novi Pazar Nihat Bisevac invited Egypt to participate in the cultural activities held by the city this summer, lauding the pioneering regional cultural role of Egypt.
