Egypt will see soaring temperatures starting Monday, with Cairo set to exceed 40 degrees Celsius.
In press statements on Saturday, the head of Egypt's Meteorological Authority Ahmed Abdel-Aal said the country will see a drop in temperature on Saturday and Sunday and then an increase on Monday.
Cairo and the country's south will be the most affected in terms of weather, with the head of the EMA calling on Egyptians to avoid direct exposure to the sun.
The hot weather comes in the Islamic month of Ramadan, when observant Muslims abstain from food or water during daylight hours.
