The Egyptian Football Association have asked the security authorities to allow fans to attend Zamalek’s second leg Confederation Cup final game at Alexandria's Borg El-Arab stadium on Sunday, after their loss to RS Berkane in the first leg.

"We sent a letter to the interior ministry asking them to allow 60,000 Zamalek fans to attend the second leg game," Egyptian Football Association manager Tharwat Sweilam told a local radio programme on Monday.

The Cairo giants lost 1-0 to the Moroccans in the first leg; the competition's leading scorer Fo Doh Laba scored the killer goal four minutes into additional time, sparking wild celebrations at Berkane Municipal Stadium.

"All the country are behind Zamalek to achieve the trophy," Sweilam said.

"There will be a support from all entities and the stadium stands will be full of Egyptian fans, not only Zamalek fans.”

Zamalek have no choice but to win in the match if they want to secure their first-ever Confederation Cup title.

The Whites have not tasted any success on the continental stage since defeating Morocco's Wydad Casablanca in the African Super Cup in 2003.
