Howeida Kamel is director general of Public Relations and External Communications of the General Authority of National Library and Documentation


In continuation of Egypt's soft power efforts and its pioneering role in the Arab region and the world, Howeida Kamel, director general of Public Relations and External Communications of the General Authority of National Library and Documentation, has been elected member of the Permanent Committee for Education and Training in the International Federation of Library Associations (IFLA) for the period from 2019 to 2023.

TheInternational Federation of Library Associations and Institutions(IFLA) is the leading international body representing the interests of people who rely on librariesand information professionals.

An independent, non-governmental, not-for-profit organisation, IFLA was founded in Scotland in 1927 and maintains a headquarters at the National Library of the Netherlandsin The Hague.

IFLA sponsors the annual IFLA World Library and Information Congress, promoting universal and equitableaccess to information, ideas, and works of imagination for social, educational, cultural, democratic, and economic empowerment.

IFLA closely partners with UNESCO, with several IFLA manifestos recognised as UNESCO manifestos.
