Cairo will be the only African stop for Serbian flights, and Belgrade the only West Balkan city running direct flights to the Egyptian capital
Serbia’s flagship airline Air Serbia has launched a direct flight route between the Serbian capital, Belgrade, and Cairo, Egyptian state news agency MENA reported Thursday.
The first direct flight between the two cities will be operated next week, Egyptian Ambassador to Serbia Amr Al-Goweily said.
Cairo will be the only African stop for Serbian flights, and Belgrade the only West Balkan city running direct flights to the Egyptian capital.
Serbian Minister of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunication Rasim Ljajic said the move is expected to boost trade and goods movements between the two countries, helping to strengthen bilateral ties.
