Twenty-two senior employees in Alexandria governorate have been referred to urgent disciplinary trial on negligence charges on Monday by the Egypt's administrative prosecution .

The employees are accused of wasting some 1.3 billion pounds of state funds byfailing to collect dues from a number of clubs and coffee shops along the beach of the Mediterranean city.

The administrative prosecution ordered the authorities to start to collect the dues and has taken all legal measures and issued warnings to owners of the clubs and restaurants.
