Egyptian, Japanese FMs discuss preparations for TICAD

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry discussed on Friday with his Japanese counterpart Taro Kono preparations for holding the coming Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD), which is scheduled to be held in Yokohama and co-chaired by Egypt and Japan.

The two ministers discussed bilateral relations and means of developing them in all fields, especially in education, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Hafez said in a statement.

The meeting, held on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Osaka, touched on cultural cooperation between the two countries and the developments of establishing the Grand Egyptian Museum.

The spokesman noted that the two ministers also discussed several regional issues, including efforts to revive peace process in the Middle East and the latest developments in the Arabian Gulf area.
