Moroccan side Raja Casablanca is very close to signing Zamalek's winger Hamid Ahddad, according to Raja's spokesman Said Wahbi.
"Raja reached advanced stages in negotiations with Zamalek to sign Ahddad," Wahbi told Time Sports TV channel.
"Our former striker Mohsen Yagour left to Saudi Arabia, so we're searching for a replacement. Negotiations with Zamalek over Ahddad are still ongoing, and it will end shortly," he added.
Wahbi ruled out Moroccan striker Ahly's Walid Azarou or his compatriot Khaled Boutaib as Yagour’s replacement.
"Azarou is a perfect player. Many European teams want to sign him and his financial value is very high in addition to his desire to play in Europe. On the other hand, Boutaib doesn't participate with Zamalek, and I don't see that he's qualified enough to play in Raja," Wahbi explained.
The 24-year-old Moroccan winger Ahddad joined Zamalek ahead of the current season coming from Morocco's Difaa Hassani El-Jadidi on a four-year contract. The Moroccan winger appeared in 11 league matches with Egyptian giants Zamalek, without scoring any goals.
Raja Casablanca finished his season in second place of the professional Moroccan league with 55 points behind the leaders Wydad Athletic Club with four points.
While Zamalek occupy third place in the Egyptian league's table with 69 points, behind Ahly which leads the league with 74 points. Ahly will win the league officially if they win Wednesday's match against Arab Contractors.
