Egypt’s Abd-Rabou may appear in Saudi Clasico

Newly-signed midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou could appear for the first time with club Ittihad Jeddah in the Saudi derby with Al-Hilal next week


Midfielder for Egyptian team Ismaily and Saudi Ittihad Jeddah will participate today in the his first training session with the Saudi giants who are preparing for the anticipated Clasico with Al-Hilal next Tuesday in the domestic league.

“Abd-Rabou arrived to Jeddah and will start today to train with Ittihad in preparations for the derby with Al-Hilal,” Saudi daily newspaper Al-Jazirah revealed on Tuesday.

Three days ago, Ismaily agreed to loan out the Pharaohs star to Ittihad Jeddah for six months amid uncertainty over whether the Egyptian Premier League will resume following the Port Said tragedy.

The Dervishes’ this season top scorer with eight league goals, Abd-Rabou, agreed to give up his EGP 5.75 million overdue payment in order to complete the deal.

The 27-year-old player played for United Arab Emirates team Al-Ain for two seasons before returning to Ismaily in the summer of 2010. He has two years remaining on his contract with the club.
