MENA, , Wednesday 31 Jul 2019

Egypt's Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said on Tuesday that the government will continue to support social protection programmes and the subsidy system, while establishing an accurate database to determine who should benefit from these subsidies.

Madbouly was speaking at the second session of the simulation model of the Egyptian state at the seventh National Youth Conference, which kicked off on Tuesday in the New Administrative Capital.

This session focused on the issues of social protection, terrorism, security challenges, and regional unrest.

The PM added that the rationalisation of oil products helps the government expand in the provision of healthcare and education services.

Social Solidarity Minister Ghada Wali said during the session that around 1,000 new families will be added to the Takaful and Karama welfare programmes with the beginning of the new fiscal year.

She added that the social solidarity ministry has set up a database of 7 million households, which will help ensure that eligible families benefit from social protection programmes.

During the session, a documentary on the state's efforts to fight terrorism and achieve stability was shown.
