Handball: Africa champions Zamalek bid farewell to Super Globe

Egypt's Zamalek lost on Wednesday to German side THW Kiel 32-28 in the quarter final of the 2019 club world championship Super Globe hosted by Saudi Arabia.

The 11-time African champions Zamalek qualified directly to the quarters of the annual tournament Super Globe after achieving the 2019 African Handball Super Cup by beating local rivals Ahly 38-35.

Zamalek will play their first game on Thursday in the placement rounds from 5th to 10th place against American champions New York City.

Meanwhile, Kiel qualified to the semis alongside Saudi Arabia's Al-Wehda, which includes the Egyptian star Ali Zein, awaiting the two winners of the games between FC Barcelona against Al-Duhail, and Vardar Skopje against Al-Mudhar.
