Short film competition on the redefition of public space

A short film competition for university students in Egypt allows them to explore the meaning of public space after 25 January, the date Egypt's revolution began


The Australian Cultural Forum and the German University in Cairo opened a short film competition titled Move.Talk.Play.Work, referring to public spaces and, specifically, its redefinition after 25 January 2011, when Egypt's revolution began.

Films should not exceed three minutes and will fall under the following categories: Abstract, Documentary and Portrait. University students in Egypt are invited to apply.

The jury will include Egyptian filmmaker Ahmed Abdallah, Egypt-based German artist Daniel Rode, Egyptian actor Khaled Aboul Naga, Egyptian architect and filmmaker Tarek Naga and Austrian filmmaker Sabine Derflinger.

Winners will be announced during a public event that will take place in March.

Deadline for submission is 17 March.
