Egypt, Japan sign MoU on judicial cooperation
MENA , Sunday 15 Sep 2019

Egypt's Prosecutor General Nabil Sadeq has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in Tokyo with his Japanese counterpart to boost bilateral cooperation in the judicial field.

The two sides held intensive consultations for three years to agree on all items of the MoU, said a statement by the top prosecutor's office on Thursday.

The signing of the MoU by the Japanese public prosecution comes in appreciation of continued efforts by the Egyptian public prosecution to foster judicial cooperation mechanisms with the different African, Asian, European and American counterparts, the statement added.

It also falls within the framework of the Egyptian public prosecution's keenness to enhance judicial cooperation with the Japanese side, the statement read.

The agreement is a clear evidence of the two countries' strong desire to establish the rule of law and counter all forms of crime, the statement noted.
