Townhouse Gallery opens 'Giza Threads' exhibition by art photographer Rana El-Nemr on Sunday 26 Feburary in the first floor space

Rana El-Nemr, an Egyptian artist and photographer, presents Giza Threads next week at the downtown Cairo art gallery Townhouse. The award-winning photojournalism graduate has exhibited in Beirut, Switzerland, Germany, Japan, Finland and the USA, focusing on a range of topics from urban fabric to class structures.

“I see long streams, which are strong, dark, constant… I find them abstract, incomprehensible, and flowing recklessly most of the times. I call themcurrents. And I see finer streams, they are shorter in length, & momentary in nature, but they come in greater numbers. They carry music, warmth and colour. I find myself collecting evidence of the threads' existence, and of their occasional displacement and replacement,” El-Nemr conceptualised.

The exhibition opens on Sunday, 26 February at 7pm and will run till 7 March.
