The third round of the “Solos in Parallel” exhibition featuring new collections by Egyptian contemporary artists Klay Kassemand Ayyad Alnimeris currently showing atTAM.Gallery. The exhibition aims to take the viewer on a journey through two contrasting worlds –Kassem’s melodic interpretations of Mozart’s Magic Fluteand Alnimer’s vibrant and personal perceptions of theworld – both evincing with the familiarity of life, loss, family ties and enlightened love.
“I do not draw ideas or spoken notions as they are better left for written expression. My work is an emotional charge, a reflection not only of what I see, but also the life I’m living. Therefore, each of my artworks is a standalone that carries parts of my soul and conscience where I offer a new aesthetic research in terms of content, form, colour and material, producing an unprecedented release away from all labels,” Alnimer comments on his collection, “Realms of Love”.
Born in Egypt but based in the United States, Alnimer’s works burst with colour and life, expressing an appreciation of life rarely captured by an adult artist: “Although classically trained at the Faculty of Fine Arts, Helwan University in Cairo, I was constantly in confrontation with my professors. Even as a student, I felt constrained by the restrictions of the establishment. I was rebellious. I wanted to paint with my soul.”
The exhibition continues until 3 October.
