Egypt’s newly signed national football team coach Hossam El-Badry has called five foreign based players currently overseas, including Liverpool star Mohamed Salah, for the upcoming closed camp in October.

"The Egyptian Football Association sent an official call for five foreign based players playing overseas 15 days before launching the national team camp that kicks off on 7 October," read a statement by EFA Sunday.

"This call comes after arrangement with the team's coach Hossam El-Badry,” the statement added.

The five called players are: Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Mahmoud 'Trezeguet' Hassan (Aston Villa), Ahmed 'Kouka' Hassan (SC Braga), Mohamed Elneny (Besiktas) and Ahmed Hegazi (West Bromwich).

"The Egyptian Football Association started talks to organise a friendly game for the national team during October's camp," the statement added.

The Egyptian Football Association appointed former Ahly player and coach Hossam El-Badry as Egypt's national team manager on Thursday.

El-Badry is the first Egyptian manager in Egypt's hot seat in four years following Argentinean tactician Hector Cuper (2015-2018) and Javier Aguirre (2018-2019).
