Egypt's Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation has said that flood waters during October exceeded rates in previous years and that overall output of the Nile River is very promising.



According to a statement issued by the ministry Sunday, the committee for regulating the output of the Nile River reviewed the situation of current Nile flooding, its impact on total water resources in Egypt, and the required procedures to manage and distribute the water to meet different purposes. The committee also reviewed the water situation throughout the water year and the management mechanisms in place nationwide.



The increase in flood water was utilised to improve water quality, achieve better environmental balance in the river and get rid of deposited pollutants, the ministry added.



The ministry affirmed the continuance of cleanup efforts on the Nile River in accordance with the law and in cooperation with citizens and concerned bodies to preserve the Nile River border and water quality, in addition to preventing infringements, including establishing activities within restricted areas of the Nile.
