Ambassadors, senior state officials, public figures at Korean National Day celebration

To mark the South Korea's National Day, ambassador of South Korea to Egypt Yoon Yeocheol and his wife hosted a lavish reception party at their residence in Maadi on 10 October and received ambassadors, public figures and senior state officials.

Attending were the ambassadors of Malta, Mexico, the USChargé d’Affaires, Italy, Hungary, Bulgaria, Indonesia, Poland and Thailand.

Present from the Egyptian side were governor of Beni Suef Hany Abdel-Gaber,Minister of Finance Mohamed Maait,General Ismail Gaber, head of General Organisation for Export and Import Control (GOEIC) Alaa Fahmy, President of the Egyptian-Korean Friendship Association (EKFA) Mohamed Sabreen, Secretary-General of the EKFA and former Ambassador to South Korea Reda El-Taify, representative of the Coptic Orthodox Church Taghrid Arafa.

A large number of Egyptian members of parliament attended including Karim Darwish, chairman of the foreign relations committee, Sherine Farrag and Suzy Rafla, members of the foreign relations committee, Manal Maher El-Gamiel, member of the human rights committee, Mohammed El-Sallab, deputy chairman of the industry committee, Mohamed Aly Youssef, chairman of the SMEs committee, as well as Nancy Nosseir, member of the SMEs committee.

Also attending was resident coordinator of the UN Country Team, the director of IOM Egypt, the director of the British Council, and PR expert and founder of Soft Production Company for promoting art Mona Zaki.

The event featured a concert by the Korean Saxophone Quartet,performing a variety of classical and jazz saxophone compositions as well as K-Pop and Egyptian songs.The Korean Cultural Centre in Cairo, in cooperation with the Cairo Opera House, organised a gala concert for the group titled 'Sound of the Autumn' on 9 October at the Opera House's Open- Air Theatre.
