Hot temperature in Cairo until Friday, expected rain in Sinai and Upper Egypt

Temperatures are forecast to remain relatively hot in the Egyptian capital and the Nile Delta over the next two days, while rain is expected to continue in some parts of the country, meteorologists said.

Cairo and the Delta are expected to see highs of 30 and 31 degrees Celsius and lows of 22 on Thursday and Friday, respectively, the Egyptian Meteorological Authority said on its official website.

The northern part of the country along the Mediterranean Sea, including the city of Alexandria, will see highs of 28 degrees and lows of 22 on both days.

Rain is forecast to continue on Thursday for the sixth day in some parts of the northeastern border of Sinai and the southern part of the country, with high temperatures expected to hover around 33 degrees during the day and lows of around 24. The wet weather is not predicted to continue into Friday.

The popular Red Sea resort cities of Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh will be slightly hotter, with highs of 34 degrees and lows of 26 on the two days.

The southern part of Upper Egypt, where the ancient cities of Luxor and Aswan are located, will see highs of 38-39 degrees and lows of 28 on both days.
