President Sisi arrives in Sochi for Russia-Africa Summit

President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi arrived in Russia's Sochi city this morning to head theRussia-Africa Summit,held on 23 and 24 October, alongside the Russian President Vladimir Putin.

El-Sisi and Putin will meet to discuss enhancing bilateral relations in all fields and on all levels within the framework of the comprehensive partnership and strategic cooperation agreement signed between the two countries, Egyptian presidential spokesperson Bassam Radi said in a statement.

President El-Sisi will also meet with a number of African leaders attending the summit, and will participate in launching the Afro-Russian Economic Forum, which aims to develop trade cooperation and economic relations between Russia and Africa.

The summit will consist of two general sessions and will issue a final declaration. It aims to strengthen and support the historic relations between Africa and Russia.

President El-Sisiis the current chair of the African Union.

El-Sisi will aslo meet with Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed in Moscow on Thursday to discuss the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD) issue.
