Former Zamalek winger Alaa Ali died on Monday at the age of 31 after reported health issues.
Ali, who came from Zamalek youth ranks, started his career with the club's senior team in 2007.
The club mourned Alaa on their official Twitter account, offering condolences to his family.
After departing the White Castle in 2012, he played for a host of Egyptian clubs including Wadi Degla, Masry, Smouha and finally for Petrojet.
Alaa featured in 119 Egyptian Premier league appearances throughout his football career.
He had recently become a free agent after departing Petrojet following their relegation to the second division last season.
