Chairman of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Borge Brenda, said that Egypt was one of the fastest-growing economies.

Brenda's remarks came during his meeting with Egypt's Minister of Investment and International Cooperation Sahar Nasr on Thursday in Geneva, in the presence of Ambassador Alaa Youssef, Egypt's permanent representative at the United Nations, World Trade Organisation, and other international organisations in Geneva.

The chairman of the Davos forum praised Egypt's progress, especially the economic and legislative reforms that contributed to improving the investment climate in Egypt.

Nasr reviewed the economic, legislative, structural and institutional reforms recently undertaken by the government to improve the investment climate, stressing that those reforms aimed at enhancing the investors' confidence in the Egyptian economy.

The minister pointed out that the Egyptian government had worked to establish an attractive environment for local and foreign investors to boost economic growth and enhance Egypt's competitiveness.

Egypt encourages the private sector to pump new investments especially in light of the ongoing projects implemented by the government in the areas of infrastructure, the minister added.
