Liverpool to make late decision over Salah's availability for Crystal Palace game

Liverpool to decide on Friday whether Mohamed Salah will be fit for Saturday's Premier League match against Crystal Palace

Liverpool still need to further assess Mohamed Salah's fitness before deciding whether he could play against Crystal Palace in Saturday's Premier League game, coach Juergen Klopp has said.

The Egyptian forward has been nursing an ankle injury that he aggravated in Liverpool's 3-1 Premier League win over Manchester City earlier this month.

The injury ruled him out of Egypt's Nations Cup qualifying games against Kenya and Comoros.

"Yesterday he trained. He trained the whole time since he was here, but only the things we wanted him to do," Klopp told a news conference on Friday.

"Today is another important session to see how it looks and we can make the decision. It's not that it got worse but it's still kind of there, that's the problem. We have to be sensible with things like this.
"But I didn't make the decision. If I would have made a decision, I probably wouldn't have told you now, but it's true I have to see the session today."

Salah has scored nine goals in 17 appearances in all competitions so far this season, including six in the Premier League as Liverpool opened up an eight-point lead on top of the table.
