Egypt's human rights council delegation visits Minya prison

The NCHR delegation inspected the conditions of the inmates and to make sure they are receiving appropriate medical care and nutrition


A delegation of the National Council for Human Rights (NCHR) visited on Thursday the Minya maximum security prison in Upper Egypt's Minya governorate, where the delegation members were received by representatives of the Ministry of Interior's prison sector, the interior ministry said in a statement.

The delegation inspected the conditions of the inmates and to make sure they are receiving appropriate medical care and nutrition, according to the statement.

The delegation members met with some inmates and talked with them about the living conditions in the prison and visited the facility's bakery, the kitchen, the library, the sport facilities, and the clinics.

The inmates praised the living conditions and the rehabilitation services offered to them at the prison, the statement read.
