Artist Ahmed Sabry is back at the Mashrabia Gallery with his sixth solo exhibition, “Stories of Broken Glass”. Breaking away from the digital media that dominated his works in the past, he presents black and white drawings and abstract paintings in which human, animal and abstract shapes merge.

For nearly ten years in 2008-2017, Sabry reformulated media imagery in striking combinations of image and text which told mythological and supernatural stories. Now he returns to pre-2007, notably 2003, work, benefiting from the link to the past as much as the work itself.


The exhibition is on until 9 January.
