Tunisian giants Esperance ended their FIFA Club World Cup campaign with a consolation victory after thrashing Qatari side Al-Sadd 6-2 in the fifth-place playoff on Tuesday.

Libyan winger Hamdou Elhouni netted a hat-trick on 6,42 and 74 minutes, midfielder Anice Badri netted twice in the 13th and 26th minutes and full-back Sameh Derbali put the icing on cake with three minutes remaining to give African champions Esperance a comprehensive win.

Al-Sadd played with ten men after defender Abdel-Karim Hassan was shown a red card in the 26 minute for clearing an effort off the line with his hand.

The Qatari side's two goals came from the spot as Algerian striker Baghdad Bounedjah and Hassan Al Haidos converted two penalties in the 32nd and 49th minutes respectively.

Esperance, who won back-to-back Champions League titles, also finished fifth in last year's edition of the Club World Cup.
