President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi asserted that Egypt was keen on all aspects of constructive cooperation with Cyprus especially in view of the development and strength in the two countries' relations over the past period or within the framework of a three-way mechanism of cooperation grouping Egypt, Cyprus and Greece.
This came in a phone call the president received on Thursday night from his Cypriot counterpart Nicos Anastasiades, said Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi.
During their conversation, the two presidents discussed means of boosting the close bilateral relations along with coordination of stances as regards a number of security and regional files along with issues relevant to East the Mediterranean Sea, added the spokesman.
The Cypriot president, for his part, voiced his country's resolve to beef up joint cooperation whether at the bilateral level of within the framework of the three-way mechanism of cooperation between the three countries with the aim of pushing forward distinguished cooperation as well as continuing consultations regarding political issues of common interest.
The talks come in light of the outcome of the seventh tripartite summit between Egypt, Cyprus and Greece that was held in October in Cairo under the chairmanship of President El-Sisi.
