Sobhi’s recovery from muscular injury is "on the right track,” Ahly’s doctor told reporters Thursday
Ahly in-form winger Ramadan Sobhi will undergo medical scans within the coming 48 hours to determine his progress in an ongoing recovery programme for muscular injury, the team's doctor Khaled Mahmoud announced Thursday.
The 22-year-old talented winger, who plays for Ahly on loan from English side Huddersfield Town, picked up a hamstring strain during his participation in training last month.
"Ramadan Sobhi will undergo medical scans in the coming 48 hours to determine his progress in the recovery program," Mahmoud told reporters on Thursday.
"The recovery process is on the right track,” Mahmoud told reporters Thursday. "Sobhi is training in the club's fitness gym before undergoing new medical scans," he added.
Last summer, Ahly extended Sobhi's loan deal for one more season.
The talented winger, who came from Ahly's youth ranks, is a key player in coach Rene Weiler's lineup, bringing much-needed strength and creativity to the frontline.
Since guiding Egypt's Olympic team as skipper to win the U-23 African Cup of Nations title at home last November, Sobhi also delivered outstanding performances in the Egyptian Premier League, netting four goals in six matches so far this season.
Champions Ahly currently lead the league table with full marks at 27 points after playing eight games in the league.
