After two straight defeats, Hossam Hassan leaves Smouha after almost a year in charge
Egypt's iconic striker Hossam Hassan resigned from his post as Smouha coach on Thursday just 24 hours after slumping to a 3-2 loss to Wadi Degla in an Egyptian league game.
Wednesday's loss is the second in a row for Smouha and the third this season as the Alexandria-based club lie seventh on the league table with 17 points from 12 games.
The former Zamalek and Masry coach took charge of Smouha last February, guiding the team in 24 games, winning nine, losing nine and holding in six.
Smouha is yet to name a successor, as they will face Haras El-Hodoud on Sunday.
Several local reports have linked former Egypt assistant coach Osama Nabih with the job.
