Egypt and Masry goalkeeper, Ahmed El-Shennawy, survived a car accident Sunday night.

The 20-year-old player was driving his car in Port Said city on his way home when he lost control and his car flipped.

The best goalkeeper in 2011 African Youth Championship, who plays an essential role on the Olympic team, proved his worth on the seniors’ team under American coach Bob Bradley, who started to depend on him since Brazil’s friendly in November.

The young Pharaoh, highly prized by various European clubs, is expected to be a solid guard for the Under-23 net in the 2012 London Olympics before helping the seniors in the qualifiers to the 2013 African Cup of Nations and the 2014 World Cup.
