Bandar Haggar and Egypt’s ministers of international cooperation and petroleum and mineral resources met Thursday on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum

President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) Bandar Haggar has asserted that the IDB is eager to support Egypt’s efforts to achieve economic growth.

Egypt, a founding member of the IDB, is among five major countries that benefit from IDB funding programmes.

Haggar praised Egypt’s progress in economic and legislative reform, and its partnership with the private sector.

Haggar's comments came during a meeting with Egypt’s ministers of international cooperation and petroleum and mineral resources, Rania El-Mashat and Tarek El-Molla, held Thursday on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The three parties discussed IDB support for the Egyptian government's efforts to enhance partnership between public and private sectors through funding infrastructure projects and national mega projects, and expanding financing for empowering youth and human capacity building.

Egypt’s portfolio of IDB supported financing reaches $12.8 billion and covers electricity, petroleum, agriculture, irrigation, health, education and SMEs.
