Egyptian foreign ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez said the two ministers also discussed developments in the Libyan crisis and the outcomes of the Berlin conference over the country.

Egypt's foreign minister Sameh Shoukry discussed in a phone call with his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian US President Donald Trump’s “Deal of the Century” for peace in the Middle East, reviewing close coordination between the two countries to push with peace efforts in the region.

Egyptian foreign ministry spokesman Ahmed Hafez said the two ministers also discussed developments in the Libyan crisis, and the outcomes of the Berlin conference over the country.

They reaffirmed their rejection of any foreign interference into the Libyan affairs, with Le Drian presenting recent remarks made by the French president in this regard.

The ministers agreed on holding a meeting in the near future to boost cooperation and consultations.

The phone call comes nearly a week after global leaders, including Egypt, UAE, and Russia- all backers of eastern LNA's Khalifa Haftar, and Turkey, which supports the internationally recognized government in Tripoli agreed with other leaders to push towards a lasting ceasefire and an arms embargo.

On Wednesday, French President Emmanuel Macron accused Turkey's president of breaking promises made at Berlin on Libya after Turkish warships and Syrian fighters arrived in the country.
