Mon 2, 6-7.30pm: “Reading the Qur’an as a Great Book”, a talk explores the challenges of reading the Qur’an from beginning to end, as a great book, and describes some strategies for meeting those challenges. Based on the speaker’s experiences teaching the Qur’an as great book at the University of Michigan, the presentation discusses literary characteristics exhibited by the Qur’an, and consistent with its status as revealed text.
