An out-of-sorts Masry side were eliminated from the African Confederation Cup quarters after slumping to a 1-0 loss at Morocco's RS Berkane on Sunday.

Najji Larbi's 39th-minute goal sent Masry packing, with Berkane booking a last-four berth with a 3-2 aggregate win.

Masry continued their poor run, with the arrival of coach Tarek El-Ashri failing to rescue their African campaign after they also dropped to 10th place in the Egyptian Premier League table.

They needed to score away from home after being held to a 2-2 first-leg draw in Suez but could not mount any threats throughout the 90 minutes, except for a stoppage-time angled shot from Saidou Simpore that struck the post

Mouhcine Iajour, who scored twice for Berkane in the first leg, had a side-footed effort that narrowly missed the target in the 17th minute.

Larbi then scored the only goal, meeting a corner with a looping header that flew over the poorly-positioned keeper and into the net.

Berkane reached the final last season, where they lost to Egypt's Zamalek on penalties.

Masry's elimination leaves Pyramids FC as Egypt's only representative in the last four of Africa's secondary club competition.

The debutants qualified for the semis earlier on Sunday despite losing 1-0 at home to Zambia's Zanaco, going through with a 3-1 aggregate win.
