The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) revealed the details of its global visual art competition, inviting the participation of painters and graphic artists.

Titled 'United against Corona - Express through Art', the competition's regulations are as follows:

The competition is open to all amateur and professional artists from India and the world. The event encourages submissions of artistic expressions to present their emotions, feelings, ideas and innovative thoughts on the COVID-19, social distancing, quarantine and the fight against the virus.

The competition accepts submissions in three categories: professional artists, amateur artists, and children and students (below the age of 21).

The artistic mediums accepted are paintings (on canvas/paper – oil, water colours, pencil, crayons) and digital art (graphic posters and paintings).

The expressions of artists are categorized into the following: contemporary arts, folk and tribal art, cartoons and illustrations, and digital and new age art.

Participants are required to send high resolution photos (up to a maximum 10MB) of their work to ICCR by 1 May 2020.

According to the official announcement by the ICCR, the "best of the expressions will be exhibited in leading galleries in India and abroad. A permanent online exhibition will also be on display. A grand event will be held in New Delhi with a cultural extravaganza and prize giving ceremony, the dates for which will be determined depending on the resolution of the COVID crisis."
